Why is the FIBAA accreditation important?
FIBAA is a unique accreditation agency: For the first time in history, the initiative for quality assessment of university management education has been taken by industry and employers organisations. Who knows best which quality in management education is needed than those that finally employ graduates of university programmes? In 1994 German, Swiss and Austrian industries took the first steps to establish a management education accreditation body that today belongs to the leading ones in the world like the AASCSB (US), AMBA (UK) or Chapitre (France).
The uniqueness of FIBAA is not limited to the initiative of industries to assess quality in management education. It is one of the first initiatives worldwide where the founding members belong to different nations: Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Sweden. In addition, in 2006, FIBAA received official recognition of the Dutch Accreditation Council NVAO (Nederlands Vlaamse Accreditatie Organisatie) and has the permission to accredit master and bachelor degree in the Netherlands and Belgium.
Graduates that bear an MBA degree which has been accredited by FIBAA can be proud: On one side it is the German, Swiss, and Austrian industries that confirm the quality of the degree. On the other side, the quality of the degree has been assessed internationally, not only by one nationality, but by leading European nations.
