Our MBA | Why India for Foreigners?

How to enter fast growing markets successfully

"Incredible India!" This is how India promotes itself. The country is incredible, not only for tourists, but also for business. IBR chose the country as a place for running residential periods because:

  • with a rapidly growing middle class of over 300 million people it is a highly attractive market for exporters as well as investors as the local consumption rate is growing with 12% per annum
  • India has the potential to be one of the world's most exceptional economical development stories over the next 3 to 5 years based on a high quality stock of human capital, a large number of world class companies and a spectacular entrepreneurial spirit.

This residential period shall stimulate foreigners to grasp the vision of how to enter fast moving markets. IBR has its own representation in Hyderabad, India, the fastest growing metropolitan area in the country. It is a city that reveres both its high tech industries and its ancient cultures. Within the context of the MBA programme, Hyderabad serves as a great study object as the city is rated as having the most business friendly regulations within India (Worldbank 2007: Doing Business in South Asia) and offers great possibilities to enter this fast growing market.
