Our MBA | Why the Netherlands for Foreigners?

How to create and manage effective teams

The Human Resource Management residential period will take place in the Netherlands. The design of this residential period will be completely different from other residential periods as students will be challenged to study themselves as leaders and team members in action. The whole learning experience will centre around a five day sailing cruise:

  • The team for the residential period will consist of the MBA student group, an experienced sailing crew and IBR faculty members. The team's success in making this cruise an exciting experience will depend on every member. As positions will be rotated, everyone will have the opportunity to lead and serve.
  • IBR faculty members will work interactively together with all students on this sailing cruise. This will include workshop input on leadership, effective communication and motivation as well as individual and group coaching on own behaviour in leading and serving positions on board.

The Netherlands as a country has been selected by IBR because of the Ijsselmeer. It offers excellent conditions for sailing cruises: On one side, you are on the open sea, on the other side, the waters are secure as a dam separates the Ijsselmeer from the North Sea. As it is not far away from Amsterdam, it can be reached easily.
