The IBR MBA is a blend of residential periods and practical company projects. Residential periods are run with IBR MBA faculty members in Germany, the Netherlands, Hungary, India, Israel or Ukraine. Company projects are complemented with related business consultations by IBR faculty members and locally experienced consultants. The study concept has been designed in order to best adapt to executives' needs who wish to combine work and study.
Residential periods with exclusively international professors
IBR MBA students participate in five weekly residential periods during their studies. For the sake of an inspiring international experience, IBR invites exclusively international professors that are familiar with the local culture but expose the students to an international body of knowledge. Our students meet professors that are first hand sources of information as they base their workshops on own research and own business experience in higher management positions of international organisations.
Applicants have the choice to select the location that fit best their personal needs:
- For those that prefer not leaving their home country and spending extra funds for travelling, IBR faculty members travel from Australia, South Africa, the US and Europe to IBR local offices in order to conduct the residential periods there. Students will be exposed to best global management practice as well as latest own research results.
- For those that rather prefer travelling to other countries in order to see and analyse on the spot other companies approach to become successful in a global world, IBR offers residential periods with the same faculty members in Germany, Hungary, India, Israel, the Netherlands, and Ukraine.
The last residential period for our European and Israeli programmes with the graduation ceremony usually takes place in the historic ambience of the university in Neustadt, Germany.
Courses based on up-to-date management text books in which key aspects have to be applied
Between the residential periods students are engaged in 30 different courses. Each course takes about 2 weeks time and starts with readings taken from the latest management textbook editions. The main study focus is placed on applying key theoretical concepts in a practical working environment. Usually students take their companies as their own case and see immediately practical and tangible benefits of their studies. At the end of each course, students are required to write a project report on their findings. This report is assessed and graded by IBR MBA faculty members.
Business consultations with local consultants that allow participants to review their study results.
Before students send in their project report they are invited to participate in local business consultation sessions. On average they take place every second weekend. With the assistance of local specialists, students share their experience of applying these theoretical concepts at work and use this opportunity to upgrade their cases. In many cases these local specialists are graduates of IBR. They are of great help for students because they are familiar because of their academic and professional background with international management thinking and with the local management specifics.
