At graduate level, IBR studies represent a remarkable illustration of genuinely work-integrated learning, combining 21st-century innovation with over 500 years of German professional education expertise.

Where possible, IBR transitions the traditional classroom away from the ivory tower to the very locations where students typically dedicate the majority of their time: their workplaces. It is here, in this most natural setting, that they immerse themselves in developing practical solutions that can effect change within their immediate spheres. This approach results in an exceptional level of learning productivity, surpassing what is typically observed in traditional degree programmes.

At undergraduate level, a similar principle applies: all students are required to apply theoretical knowledge in practice through at least one full semester of internships. Furthermore, the curriculum has been designed to voluntarily include additional in-company projects as an integral part of the studies.
